Virgin Islands Bowling Federation Appoints Ronald Hickland as Head Coach

After a month long interview process, the Virgin Islands Bowling Federation out of Christiansted, St Croix, US Virgin Islands has chosen Ronald Hickland, CEO of Creating the Difference LLC as their head coach.

Ronald traveled to the island for a 4 day coaching clinic back in October to get on their radar for the head coaching position.  During that time, he saw a lot of potential in the team and was able to begin building relationships and mentoring the players.

The USVI Bowling Federation team has decided to take the next few months off from competition and get back to basics with Hickland as their coach. Ronald, who is a USBC Certified Silver Level Coach, is excited to start drills with the team to get them ready for competition as soon as possible.  His unique style of coaching, which focuses on skill drills and ball motion, should give them a new perspective on how to play the game.  Hickland currently runs a coaching class for youth and adults in the Chicagoland area and has coached some of the top PBA Professionals to major titles over his 15 year industry career. Since forming his company in 2015, he has acquired a long list of celebrity clients including Kevin Hart, Mookie Betts, and Terrell Owens.  Owens recently won the PBA/Chris Paul Celebrity Invitational under Hickland’s coaching.  Hickland embraces technology and frequently utilizes 3D modeling software for ball selection and layouts. He also uses innovative technology like “Facebook Live” as a coaching tool to remotely coach individual team members. He also makes monthly visits to the Island for both classroom and skill drills.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to help the Virgin Island team become a competitive force in international competition. This is what I am passionate about: making bowlers better.  They are some of the most passionate bowlers I have worked with and I’m sure with some education, guidance, and a lot of hard work; myself and the team at CtD will be able to get them competition ready,” said Hickland regarding the opportunity.

Ronald Moorehead, President of the USVI Bowling Federation team said, "We look forward to working with Ronald and the Creating the Difference Team in our pursuit of knowledge and participation in the sport of bowling"  Other members of the team are looking forward to the new head coach as well.  In a statement posted on Facebook, team member George Osborne stated, “It's going to be a pleasure to work with a person like Ron who has a Dictionary of knowledge, I feel that the Virgin Islands Bowlers are on their way to seeing a Difference.”
