In 2019, CtD introduced the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover to the bowling industry. This product was designed to aid in cleaning a bowling ball which had hard to remove scuff marks on it. It was paired with So Fresh and So Clean, a bowling ball life extender, and That Purple Stuff, a bowling ball cleaner. This combination went on to become a game changer for bowling ball cleaning. The biggest drawback to this method was that it was a multi-step process. In 2022, we introduced Life After Death, a new type of bowling ball cleaner and life extender all in one. Once Life After Death was paired with the Scuff Mark remover, it made cleaning a dirty bowling ball much faster. In fact, Life After Death and a TruCut Scuff Mark Remover will clean a bowling ball better than any other ball cleaning method we have tested to date. Much like how we found a way to improve bowling ball cleaners from That Purple Stuff to Life After Death, we have now found a way to make the scuff mark remover even more effective.
Introducing The New TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA
This product features a much more durable, bowling ball friendly version of melamine foam. Melamine foam is commonly called a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. We have taken that material and paired it with our Green Wave Technology. This technology helps the product resist breaking for improved durability.
It also is improved with the all new TruCut Stable Grit sanding pad added to one side. This can be used for heavy duty cleaning. This side will remove the most stubborn surface scuff marks or grime extremely fast when used with Life After Death.

The TruCut Stable Grit sanding pad scans at 4700 grit, which is high enough not to dull sanded balls; yet aggressive enough to quickly and efficiently remove all types of belt marks, ball return marks and grime from your bowling ball. Use this product in conjunction with Life After Death which will clean AND protect your ball from dirt buildup for the next time you bowl.

The white side of the Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA is perfect for cleaning and not altering the surface of a polished ball.
Here are some things to remember when using this product on a bowling ball:
- Make sure you have Life After Death. Using ANY other bowling ball cleaner besides what we recommend is not advised as it can destroy the melamine foam prematurely.
- Decide which side you want to use.
- The TruCut Stable Grit sanding pad side is best for
- The most aggressive cleaning
- Heavy belt marks and grime
- Any sanded surface
- Any ball surface which hasn’t been cleaned within the last 24 games. Most every bowling ball that hasn’t had the surface adjusted will end up at 4700 grit over time through use. Used properly this pad won’t alter the surface of the ball, but it will get it really clean fast.
- The white side is best for
- Polished bowling balls
- Medium to light cleaning of the surface when paired with Life After Death
NOTE:
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT WITH ANY BOWLING BALL CLEANER other than Life After Death or So Fresh and So Clean. Bowling ball cleaners can harm or destroy the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA or greatly alter the surface of your bowling ball.
Directions for use.
Spray Life After Death liberally on the entire surface of the chosen side of the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA. It is recommended to use 20 to 30 sprays to cover the entire pad thoroughly. Failure to do so can result in prematurely wearing out the pad and/or altering the surface of your bowling ball. The pad WILL NOT work dry.
Next Spray Life After Death on the top half of the bowling ball you are working on.
Let it sit for 30 seconds and then use the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA and rub that entire half of the ball.
Flip it over and repeat the process. Wipe the entire ball off with a CtD BAM or CtD Power Pad until completely dry.
You are now all set and ready to go with a clean and protected bowling ball.
FAQ
Can I use So Fresh and So Clean with the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA?
Yes, you can but you will also need to use a bowling ball cleaner like That Purple Stuff afterwards to remove the residual So Fresh and So Clean as it is not a bowling ball cleaner and is only a bowling ball life extender.
How long will the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA last?
When properly used, this product can clean more than 50 bowling balls. Remember to avoid going over holes or grips as that can damage, and shorten the life of the pad. It is also imperative to make sure that you are using the pad while thoroughly wet with 20 to 30 sprays over the entire pad.
Can I use the TruCut Scuff Mark Remover ULTRA dry?
You should NOT use this product dry for any reason. It will accelerate the wear of the pad and will not work properly to clean your bowling ball. It MUST be used with Life After Death or So Fresh and So Clean.
