KYBT SERIES RULES - PLEASE READ
-
KYBT Tournaments are open to all USBC Youth Bowlers. KYBT memberships will be sold for $10 per person and are good for one (1) season, which runs from August 1st through July 31st. All members may purchase a Bowling Ball year for $125.00. Non-members may participate but may pay an additional $10.00 fee in addition to the entry fee, and the non-member fees are added to the series championship prize fund. Bowlers can pay the membership and have their previous event included for their season points but no event prior to that. Membership will be used to cover tour expenses, season awards, scholarships, and the series finals. Online entries will be available on www.kentuckybpa.com but will be an additional $5.00 to cover processing fees.
-
Please arrive at least (45) minutes prior to the start of an event or block.
-
There will be separate divisions for boys and girls as well as age divisions for U18 & U15. Your birthdates must fit in these date ranges to determine age division. U18 (8/1/06 to 7/31/09) and U15 (8/1/09 and later). There must be (5) kids to hold a division. In the case of not having enough for a division, bowlers will bowl up an age division and no points will be awarded in that age division for that event.
-
These events will be sanctioned and all USBC rules will apply.
-
Optional Junior Gold qualifiers will be offered at each singles event. The cost will be $50.00, and (1) spot will be awarded for every (4) entries. If there are less than (6) entries, all money will be refunded and no spot will be awarded. The spots will be based on qualifying scores and all ties will be broken based on high game during the event. All bowlers must have a Junior Gold Membership to be eligible. Junior Gold Memberships will be available on site or can be purchased online.
-
KYBT events will break all ties for the final place in the next round with a 9th and 10th frame roll-off. Any spot over the cut line will be broken based on the highest game of qualifying. Any ties in match play will be broken with a 9th and 10th frame roll-off (round robin excluded).
-
KYBT Tournaments will be sanctioned through the USBC. All bowlers must be USBC members to participate. All bowling balls must be approved for use in Junior Gold Events.
-
KYBT Tournaments will have a dress code. The Junior Gold dress code will be enforced and can be found at www.bowl.com/juniorgold. First-time bowlers will be given (1) warning only. No shorts, no jeans, no t-shirts. Boys must wear slacks, and girls may wear slacks, skirts, and shorts (fingertip length).
-
KYBT Bowlers will be limited to (5) bowling balls per tournament. Youth KY Open is considered one event with one ball card for all the blocks. Failure to turn in a ball card results in a (25) point penalty and DQ in the event. Bowlers will list the bowling balls on a ball card prior to the start of competition. If a bowler uses a ball that is not listed, they will be disqualified from the event and receive a (25) point penalty.
-
KYBT Bowlers will be expected to act in an acceptable manner. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Loud cursing, unsportsmanlike conduct, actions, and any actions damaging center equipment will lead to disqualification and a (50) point penalty.
-
KYBT Tournaments will pay out all prizes in scholarship form at a ratio of 1:7 with USBC SMART 9528.
-
Bowlers will earn (2) points for each person they beat. They will receive a bonus of (10) points for each 300 game and (20) points for each 800 series bowled. If a bowler is entered in (3) or more events, they will earn a bonus of (5) points. (Entry in a tournament is defined by paying the entry fee.) If we fail to have enough bowlers in a division, they will be moved up to the next age division. They will, however, be allowed to count any points they earn in that event towards their actual division. This rule does not apply if the bowler has voluntarily moved up a division. If this is the case, all points earned in that division stay in that division.
-
In the event of ties for the finals, all ties will be broken based on the bowler with the highest total pinfall for the season. The top (4) U18 and top (4) U15 boys and girls based on the points will earn a berth in the series finals. If we fail to have (2) events with a U15 field, the U20 field will expand to (6) in each gender. In the case of a bowler who is unable to attend, the next person in the standings will get the spot.
-
KYBT Members will be eligible for season awards including Player of the Year (top in season points), Rookie of the Year, Sportsmanship, High Average, Earnings Leader & Series Finalist. (A player must have (25) games to be eligible for the High Average). Awards will be given out at the series finals.
-
Each event will have a ball raffle donated by Ebonite. All proceeds will be added to the series championship prize fund.
